In December 2004, Lian was elected by the General Assembly as Coordinator (Ministries & Missions) and serves the Lord faithfully by visiting churches, meeting and training pastors, elders, and deacons.

Lian and Clara are very committed to the care and education of the many orphans in their area. An orphanage called "Covenant Children's Home" was started in January 2002. Lian, Clara, their three daughters and 135 orphans are living in the Home at this time.

Latest Report: (updated 7/26/2010)

Dear friends and prayer partners,

We have no access to internet for the past three weeks. It is horrible and we feel like being dropped in the middle of the jungles as we have no contact with the outside world.

This is our July Update. Our family is doing fine as we are busy with renovating our house which we hope to finish by the end of this month. Our three daughters are enjoying their summer break at the moment. Abigail (10 years) and Zoulian (8 years) have started their music classes and are enjoying it.

Praises:

  1. Our Evangelistic Outreach program at Salem Presbyterian Church from June 30 – July 4 was greatly blessed by the Lord. Even after the scheduled time was over, it was extended for another three more days as the church members are thirsty to hear the message. Many people renewed their commitment to Christ, and several others came to believe and accept the saving grace of God through the finished work of Jesus Christ.
  2. Our evangelists among the Meitei Hindus visited several churches during the first week of July giving reports with their ministry among the Hindus. Presently, we have seven mission fields among the Meitei Hindus with seven evangelists working in those areas; two other missionaries working in mainland India at Guwahati and among the tribal people in West Bengal.
  3. Covenant School has been enjoying its summer break from July 21 – July 17. We have conducted the "Life Word Seminar" from June 17 – 20, which mainly focused on child evangelism. Several hundreds of children committed their lives to Christ.

Prayer concerns:

  1. Covenant Children's Home is also under renovation as the floor needs to be repaired, and as a result we have released the children to stay at their guardians' homes while the repairing works are going on. They would come back on July 16 just a day before they resume their classes. We still could not complete the construction of the girls Dormitory due to Highway Blockades which resulted in non-availability of materials for construction.
  2. We have postponed our proposed Gospel Crusade at Enpum village due to the on-going World Cup as the villagers are crazy after it. They would be travelling to places where television cables are available for them to watch the World Cup. We are praying and planning to reschedule the time in the near future.
  3. Please pray for the 430 orphans supported by Covenant Children's Home; and the 650 students at Covenant School as they are affected by the on-going political turmoil in Manipur which resulted in the alarming rise of the price of daily essential commodities.
  4. Please continue to pray for our budget shortfall which is coming up slowly. As per the norms of our mission agency, PMI, we are to have accumulated fund for three months support. And till now we could have only one month's support. There are churches and individuals who came forward to help us make up the deficit, and we still have a long way to go.

Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support to our ministry.

In His grace,

Lian & Clara
