The primary focus of the Futo's ministry in Budapest is to compliment and encourage the existing Reformed congregations in Hungary. Through a renewal group called the Bible Society, Rob teaches Biblical Theology, Evangelism and apologetics, and counseling to train and equip lay leaders.

Last year, they added a monthly "All day Saturdays program" which is geared towards the single community and offers lectures and small group discussions. Rob and Tunde also lead a small group at their church that meets every other Friday night for young couples. In the summer months, they perform counseling and host week-long conferences on marriage and other topics like "Sonship." This year's book translation project is Francis Schaeffer's classic work "True Spirituality." Tunde leads their church choir and translates hymns and anthems into Hungarian. They will soon produce their second CD.

Latest Report: (updated 9/16/2008)

Dear friends,

I hope you are doing well. You should be able to view our photos through snapfish.

I wanted to also send you some prayer requests and thank you for praying for us. We are busy and doing well. Praise the Lord.

  1. The Budapest Bible School started this past saturday with over 83 people in attendance. Things went very smoothly and Szabi did a great job teaching. The school is in the same place as the saturdays program and the film club as well our office. We have a real ministry center in the middle of Budapest and are excited to see what the Lord is doing.
  2. Our Saturdays program and film club have been joined together and we now meet on the last saturday of each month. This coming Sept 27 I will teach on "Finding God"s will for your life" and in the evening we will watch the movie "The Bucket List". Last month we discussed and then watched the best seller DVD "The Secret"
  3. The film club book is in its final stages. It will be over two hundred pages with lots of film reviews and articles and should be printed within the next two weeks. Please pray that it would be ready by the next saturdays/film club. The graphic artist still has lots of work to do on it.
  4. Tunde's choir just got started once again. Please pray for their unity and preparations for the christmas concert.
  5. This Sunday afternoon we will start up the married couples meeting. Please pray for wisdom as it will be a large group, yet I would like to maintain intimacy and honesty during the teaching/discussion time. Please pray for the small groups that will be forming.
  6. Please pray that we can sell the little office in downtown Budapest and then pay Peter, our builder, so he can finish building our house. We are scheduled to move in early Nov. if all goes well. Please pray for all the details and decisions we have to make… and there are many.
  7. Lastly, please pray for Hajni (8) and Csenge(6) as they just started up first and second grade. They both love their teachers and are doing well.

I think these are the seven most important things in our life right now. Thank you so much for praying for us and asking the Lord for His blessings. It is a privilege to partner with you for the gospel. Please pass along our kisses and hugs, especially to the missions committee.

In Christ's love,

Rob, Tunde, Hajnal and Csenge
